With the optional OCR Enabler, you can use the Optical Character Reader
(OCR). This function can recognize the characters written on your original and
output them as text data. When you enable OCR, you can save the text data
as a PDF, XPS, DOCX, XLSX or PPTX file.
1. Place originals face up in the
Document Feeder.
2. Tap the Scan button on the
control panel.
3. Tap E-MAIL.
Note: If the User Authentication for
Scan to E-mail feature has been
enabled, the User Authentication
screen is displayed at this point
and requires you to enter a
username and password.
