What causes a 2 point calibration failure on my TPS Measuring Instruments?
    • C
      Christopher ArnoldSep 7, 2025
If the 2 Point calibration fails on your TPS Measuring Instruments (Slope is less than 85.0%), it could be due to several reasons: using an incorrect primary buffer, the glass bulb not being clean, the electrode being aged, the connector being damp, or inaccurate buffers. Ensure that you are using the buffers which the MC-81 has been set to automatically recognise. Clean the glass bulb. Attempt rejuvenation. If not successful, replace the electrode. Dry the connector in a warm place. Replace the buffers.

Why does my TPS MC-81 Measuring Instruments meter display OFF and switch off?
    • J
      jefferydiazAug 22, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments meter displays the word 'OFF' and switches off, it means the battery voltage is below 6.00 volts. The solution is to replace the battery.

What causes a 1 point calibration failure on my TPS Measuring Instruments?
    • A
      Ashley OlsonSep 4, 2025
If the 1 Point calibration fails on your TPS Measuring Instruments (Asymmetry is greater than +/-1.00 pH), it may be because the reference junction is blocked or the reference electrolyte is contaminated. Clean the reference junction and flush with distilled water and replace the electrolyte.

What to do if standard calibration fails on my TPS MC-81 and span is greater than 133%?
    • R
      rosemoniqueSep 2, 2025
If the standard calibration fails on your TPS Measuring Instruments and the span is greater than 133%, it could be due to the white protective cover not being fitted, an inaccurate standard solution, a build-up of conductive material such as salt on the electrode, or a faulty electrode. Make sure the white protective cover is fitted for correct readings. Replace the standard solution. Clean the electrode. If the issue persists, return the electrode to the factory for repair or replacement.

    Keith SpenceSep 1, 2025
What to do if standard calibration fails on my TPS MC-81 Measuring Instruments and span is less than 75%?
    • J
      james47Sep 1, 2025
If the standard calibration fails on your TPS Measuring Instruments, and the span is less than 75%, it could be due to several reasons: the electrode is not immersed deeply enough, there may be a build-up of dirt or oily material on the electrode wires, the platinum-black coating may have worn off, the standard solution is inaccurate, or the electrode is faulty. Immerse the electrode at least to the vent hole in the white plastic cover. Clean the electrode. If the platinum-black coating has worn off, the electrode requires replatinisation. Replace the standard solution. If the issue persists, the electrode may need to be returned to the factory for repair or replacement.

Why does my TPS MC-81 Measuring Instruments attempt span calibration instead of zero calibration?
    • H
      hickssamanthaAug 30, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments unit attempts a Span calibration instead of a Zero calibration, it indicates that the electrode has a Zero error. Thoroughly rinse the electrode in distilled water and allow it to completely dry in air before attempting zero calibration again. If the instrument does not calibrate at Zero with the electrode disconnected, then the instrument is faulty.

    ccisnerosAug 29, 2025
Why are the readings on my TPS MC-81 Measuring Instruments drifting?
    • A
      Anthony HallAug 29, 2025
If you are getting unstable readings on your TPS Measuring Instruments, it may be because of a build-up of dirt or oily material on the electrode wires. Cleaning the electrode may resolve this issue.
  • C
    Crystal PetersAug 28, 2025
Why are the readings on my TPS Measuring Instruments low or near zero?
    • S
      Shaun Wilcox MDAug 28, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments readings are low or near zero, it could be due to a build-up of dirt or oily material on the electrode wires, the electrode not being immersed deeply enough, or a faulty electrode. Clean the electrode. Ensure the electrode is immersed at least to the vent hole in the white plastic cover. If the problem persists, the electrode may need to be returned to the factory for repair or replacement.
  • J
    james18Aug 27, 2025
Why are my TPS MC-81 giving inaccurate readings even after calibration?
    • L
      Laura WoodsAug 27, 2025
If you get inaccurate readings with your TPS Measuring Instruments, even after successful calibration, it could be due to a build-up of dirt or oily material on the electrode wires, or the platinum-black coating may have worn off. You should clean the electrode. If the platinum-black coating is worn off, the electrode requires replatinisation.

    nelsonmichaelAug 25, 2025
What does the flashing symbol on my TPS MC-81 mean?
    • G
      Gina RodriguezAug 26, 2025
If your TPS Measuring Instruments shows a flashing symbol, it indicates that the battery voltage is below 7.50 volts. You should replace the battery soon. The unit will automatically switch off when the battery falls below 6.00 volts.
