This document is an installer's manual for a 17 Series Mini-Split Inverter System, which uses R-410A refrigerant. The system is designed for residential applications and offers cooling and heating capabilities (for heat pump models) with capacities ranging from 9,000 Btu/h to 24,000 Btu/h.
Function Description
The device is a split-system air conditioner/heat pump designed for residential use. It consists of an indoor unit and an outdoor unit, connected by refrigerant piping and electrical wiring. The system provides cooling and, for heat pump models, heating, by circulating R-410A refrigerant. The inverter technology allows for variable compressor speed, which can lead to improved energy efficiency and more precise temperature control compared to traditional fixed-speed systems.

Usage Features
- Remote Control: The system is operated via a remote control (sold separately) for functions like ON/OFF, MODE selection (AUTO, COOL, DRY, FAN, HEAT).
- Auxiliary Operation: In case of remote controller loss or damage, an auxiliary button on the indoor unit allows for basic ON/OFF operation in auto mode (77°F for cooling, 68°F for heating).
- Error Codes: The manual provides a list of common error codes (e.g., C5 for System Configuration Malfunction, E1 for High Pressure, E6 for Communication Malfunction) to assist in troubleshooting.
Maintenance Features
- Regular Checks: Professional personnel should perform regular checks, maintenance, and care to prolong the unit's lifespan.
- Outdoor Heat Exchanger: Check and clean every two months using a vacuum cleaner with a nylon brush or compressed air. Do not use water.
- Drain Pipe: Regularly check for clogs to prevent flooding.
- Indoor Unit Filter: Clean a minimum of every three months, or more often in dusty/smoky environments. Filters can be vacuumed or rinsed with cool, clear water. Warm water (below 115°F/45°C) and mild detergent can be used for very dirty filters. Do not dry filters in direct sunlight or with heat sources to prevent warping or fire hazards.
- Seasonal Use Checks (Before):
- Ensure indoor/outdoor unit inlets/outlets are not clogged.
- Verify secure power and communication cable attachments.
- Replace wireless remote controller batteries.
- Clean and securely replace filter screen.
- For long shutdowns, open the main power switch 8 hours before operation to preheat the compressor.
- Confirm secure installation of indoor and outdoor units.
- Contact dealer for any abnormalities.
- Seasonal Use Maintenance (After):
- Cut off main power supply.
- Clean indoor unit filters.
- Clean dust and debris from indoor and outdoor units.
- Apply anti-rust paint if rusting occurs.
- Parts Replacement: Purchase parts from an installing or servicing center or dealer.
- Leakage Testing: Use nitrogen for leakage testing; never mix oxygen, ethyne (acetylene), or other dangerous gases.
