Noise Considerations
Locate the unit away from sound-sensitive areas.
Install the isolation under the unit. Refer to “Neoprene Isolator Installation”.
Install vibration isolators in all water piping.
Use soft materials for all electrical hose/wiring to starter/control panel.
Seal all wall penetrations.
Note: Consult an acoustical engineer for critical applications.
Foundation
Provide a concrete foundation of sufficient strength and mass to support the applicable operating weight (i.e.,
including completed piping, and full operating charges of refrigerant, oil and water), as shown in Figure 2. Refer to
Table 2 for unit operating weights. Once in place, the unit must be level within 6 mm over its length and width.
Trane is not responsible for
equipment problems resulting from an improperly designed or constructed foundation.
NOTICE - Foundation is necessary for the convenience of unit service and maintenance
Clearances
Locate the unit so that the condenser airflow is unrestricted both above and on the sides of the unit. Provide
enough space around the unit to allow the installation and maintenance personnel and parts unrestricted access
to all service points. See Figure 3 for required clearances. Local codes for clearances take precedence over the
manufacturer’s recommendations when local codes call for greater clearances.
