Overview

The Trane Tracer Concierge System is a cost-effective building management solution designed for small buildings, simplifying the day-to-day operation of HVAC and lighting systems. It offers advanced capabilities with reduced risk, including built-in functionality for overrides, temperature setpoint changes, and daily monitoring. The system is flexible and user-friendly, accessible via a dedicated 10-inch touch screen display or a mobile application for Apple and Android devices.

Function Description:

The Tracer Concierge System provides a centralized interface for managing various zones within a building. It allows users to monitor and control HVAC equipment and lighting for specific areas. The system utilizes operating hours schedules to optimize energy consumption, automatically adjusting temperatures and turning off lights when the building is unoccupied. Users can temporarily extend operating hours or enable systems outside of scheduled times if needed. The system also features custom graphics for a tailored building overview and provides alerts for abnormal or critical operating conditions.

Important Technical Specifications:

  • Display: 10-inch touch screen (for the dedicated display unit).
  • Mobile App Compatibility:
    • Apple Devices: iPhone, iPad, and iPod devices running iOS version 8, 9, or 10.
    • Android Devices: Smartphones and tablets running Android operating systems V5.0 and up.
  • Connectivity: Connects to Tracer SC (System Controller).
  • Language Support: English, Spanish, Portuguese, and French.
  • Setpoint Limits: Optional feature to limit setpoint adjustment for energy efficiency, with a default range of three degrees (configurable from one to nine degrees).
  • PIN Support: Admin PIN for accessing settings and a separate PIN for enabling zones and adjusting temperatures.

Usage Features:

  • Main Screen Overview: Displays a snapshot of all zones, showing current temperatures and setpoints. Users can swipe left to view additional zones.
  • Zone Types: Supports three types of zones:
    • HVAC only: Controls HVAC equipment for a specific area.
    • HVAC and Lighting: Controls both HVAC equipment and lighting for a specific area.
    • Lighting only: Controls lighting for a specific area.
  • Setpoint Adjustment: Users can easily adjust the setpoint (desired temperature) for a zone using up and down arrows. If setpoint limits are enabled, these arrows may be disabled once the limit is reached.
  • Operating Hours Override: Allows users to extend operating hours by two hours if staying in the building after the scheduled time. A timer indicates how long until the schedule ends. Users can also enable the system outside of typical operating hours by tapping the power button.
  • Schedule Management:
    • Viewing Schedules: Users can view all schedules or individual schedules (e.g., Operating Hours, Parking Lot Lights) from the main menu or the "All Schedules" page. Blue bars on the schedule indicate occupied periods when the system controls temperature or lights.

    • Configuring Zones (Display Only): Users can drag and drop zones to reorder them on the main screen or hide them from display.
    • Optional Settings (Display Only): Includes options to set Admin PIN and user PIN for security, enable alert notifications, and enable setpoint limits for energy efficiency.
  • Help Menu: Offers access to language settings, contact information for local Trane office support, quick start video tutorials, and alerts.
  • Alerts: Displays a red alarm icon in the upper right corner of the screen when an abnormal or critical operating condition is detected. The "Alerts" tab in the Help menu provides detailed information about the alert, including the type of sensor issue (e.g., Space Humidity Sensor: Out Of Range Low, Space Temperature Sensor: Out Of Range Low) and the timestamp. Users can clear alerts by clicking the red check mark.
  • Video Tutorials: A Quick Start Video Tutorial is available to demonstrate key features, covering setpoint changes, overrides, and scheduling changes.

Maintenance Features:

  • Troubleshooting: The manual addresses common issues such as disabled setpoint arrows (due to setpoint limits) and unavailable zone override buttons (due to the zone already being occupied or controlled by a higher priority system).
  • Power Cycling: The display can be power cycled using the power button located on the back of the unit without unplugging it. No data is lost during a restart, and heating and cooling operations are not impacted.
  • PIN Reset: If a PIN number is forgotten, users are instructed to contact their Local Trane Office for assistance.
  • Communication Loss: If communication loss occurs between the Tracer SC and the display, or between Tracer SC and unit controllers, elements of the screen may disappear or the display may restart. In such cases, users are advised to troubleshoot the communication loss and press the power button to restart the display.
