What to do if Travis Industries Outdoor Light torch lights then goes out?
    • M
      Mark SinghAug 6, 2025
If the Travis Industries Outdoor Light torch lights during the ignition sequence but then goes out during normal operation, first check that the wiring from the transformer to the torches is correct, as incorrect polarity can damage the module. Next, check the power output of the thermopile and ensure it's wired correctly, as the thermopile is polarity sensitive. Lastly, remove the glass and clean the flame spreader, burner, and Venturi (mixing tube) to remove any bugs or debris.

How to fix Travis Industries Tempest Torch Outdoor Light when torch does not light and igniter does not glow red?
    • K
      Kathleen DavisAug 10, 2025
If the Travis Industries Outdoor Light torch does not light and the igniter does not glow red, verify that there is electrical power to the module (24VAC) and check the circuit breaker or GFCI. Check the igniter by verifying OHM’s 3.5? +/- .5? and supplying 24VAC directly to it. Also, verify the polarity of the power supplied to the control module; reversed polarity may have shorted and damaged the module.

Why are the flames too short on my Travis Industries Tempest Torch?
    • G
      Gabriel RossAug 14, 2025
If the flames of your Travis Industries Outdoor Light are too short (under 6"), it may be because the gas supply pressure to the appliance is too low. Ensure that there is enough gas in the LP tank and that the gas supply line or gas regulator is sized correctly for the load.

Why is the glass sooty on my Travis Industries Outdoor Light?
    • D
      davisrandyAug 19, 2025
If the glass of your Travis Industries Outdoor Light is sooty, check the burner and Venturi (mixing tube) for spider webs or debris. Also, windy conditions will influence the flame quality and can cause sooting.

Why don't the flames spiral on my Travis Industries Tempest Torch Outdoor Light?
    • P
      Paul OlsonAug 23, 2025
If the flames on your Travis Industries Outdoor Light do not spiral, it could be because the torch has just been turned on and needs 5 to 10 minutes to warm up and start spiraling. Windy conditions can also affect flame quality. Verify the glass has an even gap on all four corners.

    • J
      John WilsonAug 27, 2025

What to do if the igniter glows red but the Travis Industries Tempest Torch Outdoor Light torch does not light?
    • N
      Nicole MorrisOct 31, 2025
If the igniter glows red but the Travis Industries Outdoor Light torch doesn't light, first, make sure the gas is turned on by checking the shut-off valve. Then, verify the gas supply pressure is correct: NG should be at 7” W.C., or LP should be at 11” W.C. Check the valve by verifying OHM’s 33.2? +/- 1.0? and supplying 24VAC directly to the valve. Also, check for low power supplied to the module by verifying the voltage at the connection on the control module is a minimum of 21 volts at a 1.6 amp draw while the torch is in ignition cycle with the igniter glowing red. Ensure the wiring to the torch head is correct, the wire run from the transformer to the torch isn't too long, you're using the proper wire gauge for the length of the wire run, and you haven't exceeded the number of torches ...
