Detail Programming Pooled Card Codes
As always, you must be in programming mode to issue programming commands.
Card Codes (or Fobs) can be assigned to a resident or dropped into a general pool. This
unit supports dual wiegand 26-bit compatible inputs for Card Readers or Fob Receivers.
Besides Card Codes that are assigned to residents, this unit also supports Pooled Card
Codes. This feature allows greater economy of memory usage. For example, if only one
resident needs 8 card codes then all the residents must have the same number of allotted
code spaces. This is very wasteful if everyone else only needs one card per resident.
There are additional advantages to using pooled codes in that many new features can be
applied to pools. For example, you can put the same code in the pool 10 times and set the
rules that each use will delete just one matching code. This sets up the ability to issue
a card code to a visitor that can only be used 10 times total.
Auto Erase after use can only be applied to Pooled Codes. Also note that the residential
database is searched before the pooled card code database when a code is input via reader.
Pooled Card Codes can also be Site Coded and Time Zoned if those options are enabled.
Review this units enables and pooled code capacity using the following review command:
View System Configuration using command:
*#1 View System Configuration.
Scan down using the "*" key until you see Pool Cards = nnn. Where nnn is the number of
Pooled Card Codes available. Check for "Card Sites=Y" or "Card Sites=N" and check for
"Card Zones=Y" or "Card Zones=N". Obviously Y=yes and N=no. Keep these options in mind
when choosing the best commands while placing codes into the Pooled Cards database.
Card Codes are always 5 digits long, Site Codes are always 3 digits long, and Zone Codes
are always 2 digits long. Site codes are simply an extension to the 5-digit primary code
number. Setting a Site Code to "000" means ignore this site code. The Zone Code "00" means
no time zone restrictions are applied to this card.
View Current Pooled Card Codes using command *#5:
*#5# Display all card codes in the pooled database from the first one found.
*#5 12345# Display all card codes in the pooled database starting with 12345.
Use "*" to progress to the next one until dual ack-tones indicate no more to view.
Use "#" to exit this viewing procedure early.
Add or Change a Pooled Card Code using command 3#:
3# 55555# Adds card 55555 with site default as 000 and zone default as 00.
3# 111*55555# Adds card 55555 with site as 111 and zone default as 00.
3# 55555*22# Adds card 55555 with site default as 000 and zone as 22.
3# 111*55555*22# Adds card 55555 with site as 111 and zone as 22.
Note: From the keypad, or touch tones, duplicate codes can not be installed. However, the
following commands can be used to change an existing pooled card code time zone setting:
3# 55555*33# Change existing card 55555 zone code to 33.
3# 111*55555*33# Change existing card 55555 with site as 111 to zone 33.
Note: You can not change an assigned Site Code because Site Codes are part of the identity
code. To change the Site Code, first delete the original and re-install the changed code.
To install multiple duplicate codes you must do so via Modem or direct PC connection.
