Chapter 6: Plumbing 2902 Walkaround Owner’s Manual Supplement
Marine Head with Holding Tank (If Equipped)
Marine Head System
Before using this system, read
the marine head operation and
maintenance manual.
The holding tank is plumbed to
a waste fitting on the deck for
dockside pump-out.
Look at the side of the holding
tank to check the content level.
Empty the holding tank at
every opportunity.
Using The Marine Head
1. Open the head’s seawater
pickup seacock.
2. Before using the head, pump
water into the bowl to wet
the sides.
3. After use, pump until the bowl
is clean.
4. Pump a few more times to
clean the lines.
5. If excess waste causes the
water to rise in the bowl,
stop pumping until the
water recedes.
Winterizing The Marine Head
1. Shut Off the intake seacock and pump the head until the bowl is dry.
2. Remove the drain plug in the base and pump again to remove all of the water.
Do not fill the bowl with anti-freeze.
Close the intake seacock while the boat is underway or whenever the boat is left moored in the water.
Check with local authorities for regulations regarding the legal use of marine head systems.
