This document describes the Trotec TTK 96 E and TTK 127 E dehumidifiers, which are designed for drying and dehumidifying room air. They can also be used as clothes dryers for wet laundry.
Function Description
The device operates on the principle of condensation to automatically dehumidify rooms. A fan draws damp room air through an air inlet, an air filter, and then over an evaporator and condenser. The air is cooled at the evaporator to below its dew point, causing water vapor to condense as water or frost on the evaporator fins. The dehumidified, cooled air is then slightly warmed at the condenser and blown back into the room. This process continuously circulates air, reducing the humidity in the room.
Condensed water either drips continuously or during a defrost phase into an integrated drain nozzle, which leads to a condensation tank. The tank is equipped with a float to measure the filling level. When the tank reaches its maximum capacity or is incorrectly installed, a condensation tank indicator light illuminates, and the device switches off. The light extinguishes once the tank is emptied and reinserted. For continuous operation, condensed water can be drained via a hose connected to a dedicated condensation connection. The device can reduce relative humidity to approximately 35%. Due to heat radiation during operation, the room temperature may slightly increase.

Usage Features
- Control Panel: The device features a control panel for operating and controlling its functions.
- Operating Modes:
- Dehumidification: The device runs until the desired relative room humidity is reached. The compressor then switches off, but the fan continues to run. When humidity exceeds the set value, the compressor restarts. Humidity can be set from 35% to 85% in 5% increments.
- Continuous Operation: The device dehumidifies air constantly, regardless of the current humidity level. This mode is ideal for situations requiring continuous drainage via a hose.
- Comfort Mode: This mode maintains an agreeable humidity level between 45% and 55%, automatically regulating humidity based on room temperature (choosing values from 45%, 50%, or 55%). Manual humidity adjustment is not possible in this mode.
- Laundry Drying Function: The device can be used to dry wet laundry. The fan speed can be set to "high" (stage 2) for this purpose.
- Fan Speed: Two fan speeds are available: normal (stage 1) and high (stage 2). The high speed is the default for laundry drying.
- Timer Function: A timer can be programmed for automatic switch-on or switch-off after a predefined number of hours (up to 24 hours). Increments are 0.5 hours for 0-10 hours and 1 hour for 10-24 hours. The timer can be set in all operating modes.
- Auto Stop Function: The device automatically stops if the water tank is full, incorrectly inserted, or if the set humidity level is reached.
- Automatic Defrost: At low ambient temperatures, if ice forms on the evaporator, the device will automatically perform a defrost cycle, temporarily interrupting dehumidification while the fan continues to run.
- Memory Function: In case of brief power failures, the device remembers the programmed nominal humidity value. However, pre-programmed start and stop times for automatic operation are not saved.
- Portability: The device is fitted with a carry handle and wheels for easier transport.
Maintenance Features
- Air Filter: The device includes an air filter at the air inlet. It is crucial to operate the device with the air filter inserted to prevent internal contamination and potential damage. The filter needs to be cleaned when dirt is visible or after 250 operating hours (indicated by the Filter LED).
- Condensation Tank: The condensation tank should be emptied and cleaned regularly. The float inside the tank must be correctly inserted for proper operation.
- Condensation Drain Hose: For continuous operation, a condensation drain hose can be connected to a suitable drain or collection container. The hose should be removed and dried before storage if not in use.
- Housing Cleaning: The housing can be cleaned with a soft, damp, lint-free cloth. Care should be taken to prevent moisture from entering the housing and to protect electrical components. Aggressive cleaning agents should not be used.
- Internal Inspection: Periodically, the inside of the device should be visually inspected for dirt after removing the air filter. If a thick layer of dust is observed, cleaning by a specialist company for cooling and air-conditioning or Trotec is recommended.
- Refrigerant Circuit: The entire refrigerant circuit is a maintenance-free, hermetically sealed system. Any maintenance or repair work on the refrigerant circuit must only be carried out by specialist companies for cooling and air-conditioning or by Trotec.
- Storage: Before storage, the device should be drained of condensate, cleaned, and stored in an upright position in a dry, frost-protected, and heat-protected area, away from dust and direct sunlight. It should be covered if necessary, and no other objects should be placed on top of it.
- Post-Transport Rest: After transport, the device must be left to rest in an upright position for 12 to 24 hours to allow the refrigerant to accumulate within the compressor before switching it back on. Failure to do so may cause compressor damage and void warranty claims.
