these instructions, check your
mower's Model Number to be
sure that the instructions apply
to your machine. Procedures
which are common to all models
are indicated as such.
PRE-STARTCHECKLIST
(ALLMODELS)
Review Section 1: Safety and
Section 3: Features and Controls.
_/ Check the mower for loose or
missing hardware. Tighten or re-
place before starting the mower.
_' Check the engine oil level.
(See the Engine Owner's Manual
for instructions.)
_' Check the fuel level in the fuel
tank. (See the Engine Owner's
Manual for instructions.)
V' Securely attach the spark plug
wire to the spark plug.
_/ Check the Operator Presence
Control Bar (on all Models except
Models 34311 and 34328) for
freedom of movement.
_/ Check the Blade Brake Control
Bar and Wheel Drive Control Bar
(Models 34311, 34313 and 34328
only) for freedom of movement.
V' Check the Engine Speed Lever
for freedom of movement.
If Check the cutting height.
_/ Check the handlebar position
adjustment.
_/ Check the Wheel Drive Lever
(on all Models except Models
34020, 34020C, 34320, 34320C,
34311, 34313 and 34328), for
freedom of movement.
V' On Models 34023, 34323 and
34323C (Electric Start), check the
wiring harness and connectors for
damage.
Because of the safety interlock
switch on all models, the engine
will not start unless the discharge
cover or grass catcher is properly
installed.
_' Check the area to be mowed
and remove any debris.
