B Migration to u-blox-6 receivers
Migrating ANTARIS
®
4 and u-blox 5 designs to a u-blox 6 receiver module is a fairly straightforward procedure.
Nevertheless there are some points to be considered during the migration.
Not all of the functionalities available with ANTARIS
®
4 are supported by u-blox 6. These include:
• RTCM
• UTM
B.1 Checklist for migration
Have you chosen the optimal module?
For best GPS performance (i.e. better sensitivity level and acquisition time) select a LEA-6H, LEA-6S, NEO-
6Q or NEO-6G for the advantage of KickStart performance.
If TCXO/KickStart performance is not required, choose a LEA-6A or NEO-6M.
Further information on KickStart can be found under:
For active antenna applications, choose a LEA-6H, LEA-6S or LEA-6A, since an antenna supply circuit is
already built in or see chapter
http://www.u-blox.ch/en/kickstart.html.
1.4 and chapter 2.5.
For the ability to upgrade the firmware or to permanently save configuration, choose a LEA-6H.
For precision timing choose a LEA-6T
