  If HV ON does not work even after pressing the ON button on your Ulvac Power Supply, it could be due to several reasons: * HV SWEEP not working: Consult Section 5. * INTERLOCKS connector issue: Check the INTERLOCKS connector, specifically the contact between Pin 7 and Pin 8, referring to Fig. 4.7 for wiring and contacts. * KEY switch in LOCK state: Ensure the KEY switch is in the LOCAL mode, not LOCK mode.

Why do fuses blow when turning the EMISSION knob on my Ulvac Power Supply?

  If, when turning the EMISSION knob, fuses F14 and F15 or F24 and F25 are blown on your Ulvac Power Supply, it is likely due to a short circuit of the filament line of the emitter assembly. In reference to the operations manual of the EB gun, check the emitter assembly.

  If the FUSE indicator is turned off on your Ulvac Power Supply, and fuse F14 (or F24) on the back of the power supply is blown, it indicates a short-circuit in the filament circuit. Check the emitter assembly, referring to the operations manual of the EB gun. Verify whether there is a short-circuit between the right and left filament terminals.

Why does OVERLOAD light up when the beam current passes with my Ulvac HPS-1600F?

  If, when the beam current passes, the OVERLOAD indicator lights up on your Ulvac Power Supply, check the isolation insulator of the emitter assembly or the high voltage introduction terminal for dirt. Replace it if there is extreme dirt.

  If HV SWEEP does not work on your Ulvac Power Supply, check the setting of the INT/EXT switch on the M- CONT board inside the power supply unit to ensure the waveform input switch is not set to EXT.
