BOWL LIFT SLIDE & FRAME (Figure 11)
BOWL LIFT SLIDE & FRAME REMOVAL:
1. WARING: DISCONNECT THE ELECTRICAL POWER SUPPLY CORD.
2. Remove the mixer top cover (Figure 15 [4]) per section 2, Mechanics Maintenance “REMOVAL
OF TOP COVER” instructions on page 2.6.
3. Remove the rear access panel (Figure 15 [5]).
4. Remove the drive belt as described in section 2, Mechanics Maintenance “BELT REPLACE-
MENT” instructions on page 2.2.
5. Remove the bowl support assembly per the instructions on page 4.1.
6. Loosen the set screws in the collar (Figure 11 [2]) and miter gear [9] and remove the lift handle
assembly from the mixer housing. Collect the two thrust washers [3 & 8], collar [2] and gear [9].
NOTE: the position of the two thrust washers, they are not the same.
7. Remove the eight 3/8-16 nuts (Figure 11 [16]) and washers [15] and pull the slide assembly from
the mounting studs and remove it from the mixer housing. Place the slide assembly on a sturdy
workbench.
CAUTION: The slide assembly is heavy.
8. Remove the two 5/16-18 hex head cap screws (Figure 11 [5]), washers [6 & 7] and remove the
yoke [4].
9. Drive the roll pin from the miter gear (Figure 11 [11]) and remove the miter gear and thrust
washer [8] from the lead screw [13].
10. Push the slide assembly all the way down so the lead screw is free of the slide frame.
11. Loosen the two set screws in the collar [12] on the lead screw and remove the collar and thrust
washer [8].
12. Unscrew the lead screw from the floating nut and remove the lead screw from the slide assembly.
BOWL LIFT SLIDE & FRAME INSTALLATION:
13. Grease the sliding surfaces of the slide and frame. See lubrication instructions on page 2.5.
14. Screw the lead screw into the floating nut and push the slide to the bottom of the slide frame so
that the lead screw does not protrude through the hole in the frame.
15. Place the collar [12] and then the thrust washer [8] on the end of the lead screw. Push the slide
and lead screw up so the lead screw protrudes through the hole in the slide frame.
