The meter’s optical detector automatically
measure the change in membrane reflecta-
nce. The intensity of reflectance is inversely
proportional to the hemoglobin concentrati-
on. The meter calculates and displays the
total hemoglobin concentration in gram/de-
ciliter (g/dL) in 12 seconds based on a mat-
hematical conversion.
