CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Maintenance
Pump should only be serviced by qualied
personnel. For best results, use only genuine
factory parts. Be sure to prime the pump before
starting. See Figure 8.
Risk of explosion. May cause risk of
re, separation, severe bodily injury and/or property
damage. Before beginning pump service:
1. Stop pump before proceeding.
2. Close gate valves in suction and discharge pipes.
3. Release all pressure from pump and piping
system.
Risk of electric shock. Can shock, burn or
kill. Disconnect power before working on
pump or motor.
Cleaning the Trap Basket
When using factory authorized parts, no lubrication
or regular maintenance is needed beyond
reasonable care and periodic cleaning of the trap
basket (N). See Figure 10.
Replace Existing Seal/Pump Disassembly
Before disassembly, disconnect power to pump motor.
Be sure gate valves on suction and return piping are
closed. Release all pressure by opening all vents.
1. Drain pump by removing drain plugs (O) on
pump body and trap body. See Figure 9.
2. Be sure there is no pressure in trap
body; remove trap cover (L) by turning
counterclockwise.
3. Remove six nuts, lock washers and at
washers holding seal plate (E) to pump body.
See Figure 11. Pull seal plate and motor
away from pump body. You may have to
CAREFULLY use a screwdriver to separate
body from seal plate.
4. Remove seven screws and washers holding
diffuser to seal plate (E); remove diffuser (I).
See Figure 12.
