First, check your home's breaker/fuse box for a blown fuse or tripped circuit breaker; if blown, replace the fuse with the correct size or reset the breaker. Low voltage could also be the problem; if it's less than 108 volts, inspect the wiring size or use a shorter extension cord. Worn brushes can prevent starting, so consider replacing them. A blocked impeller can also cause this issue; remove any blockage. Finally, the motor itself may be defective, so contact customer service at 1-800-346-7611.

  If the flow rate of your Utilitech Water Pump is too low, the issue might be due to fouled or damaged piping or hose, so clean or replace them. Low voltage can also cause this; if the voltage is less than 108 volts, check the wiring size or use a shorter extension cord. Ensure you are using a minimum 3/4 in. heavy duty garden hose, as a smaller hose diameter can restrict flow. Also, use as short a discharge hose as possible, with a maximum length of 50 ft.

  If the seal on your Utilitech Water Pump is leaking, it could be worn and needs replacement. Call for replacements. Another cause could be a grooved shaft, in which case you should replace the rotor. Call for replacements. Also, ensure the pump head is not loose on the motor; make sure the pump is assembled properly and that there is no obstruction.
