3.8. Complete protection of a HV
capacitor bank
Figure 3.8-1 The VAMP 140 relay is well suited for the complete protection
of HV capacitor banks. The three-phase overcurrent stage provides capacitor
short-circuit protection (and overload protection). The sensitive earth-fault
stage is connected to measure the unbalance current. By utilizing the arc
protection features of the relay the capacitor bank can be given selective arc
protection.
