Status: Encoder Status
This menu allows users to view vital Encoder statistics. As you Refresh you should see
Transmit State – Transmitting and the IP Bytes Transferred count should increment. If this
does not happen check your VBrick's encoder configuration or network.
RTP Packets Received
Out of Order
The number of RTP packets received that were out of order.
RTP Packets Played Out
of Order
The VBrick decoder also uses the Jitter Queue to correct
packets that are received out of order. If the packet statistics
indicate a significant number of
RTP Packets Played Out of
Order
you may be able to improve video and audio quality by
increasing the setting in Configuration: Decoder > RTP > Time
in Jitter Queue. If you see
RTP Packets Played Out of Order,
even with a large
Time in Jitter Queue setting, the network is
losing packets.
RTP Packets Dropped The number of RTP packets dropped.
Access Units Dropped The number of access units dropped by the RTP receiver. AU
packets may be automatically adjusted to account for
differences in timing between the encoder and decoder.
Jitter Queue Underflow The VBrick decoder has an adjustable
Time in Jitter Queue to
protect against depletion by network jitter (see Configuration:
Decoder > RTP on page 22). If the packet statistics indicate a
significant number of
Jitter Queue Underflow counts you should
increase the setting in Configuration: Decoder > RTP > Time
in Jitter Queue to allow the decoder to handle more network
jitter.
Jitter Queue Overflow An overflow occurs when there is an overflow in the buffer
capacity of the VBrick.
RTCP Packets Received The number of RTCP packets received.
RTCP Packets Sent The number of RTCP packets sent.
