2 Types and versions
2.1 Overview
VEGAPULS series 50 sensors are a newly
developed generation of very compact, small
radar sensors. With modest space require-
ments, they were developed for short meas-
uring distances of 0 … 20 m and for
standard applications such as storage tanks
and buffer tanks, but also for process ves-
sels.
Due to their small housing dimensions and
process connections, the compact sensors
do your level monitoring inconspicuously, and
above all, at reasonable cost. With their inte-
grated display and remarkable intelligence,
they bring the advantages of radar level
measurement to applications where previ-
ously, due to high cost, the advantages of
non-contact measurement had to be fore-
gone.
VEGAPULS 50 radar sensors utilise two-wire
technology perfectly. The supply voltage and
the output signal are transmitted via one two-
wire cable. They provide an analogue
4 … 20 mA output signal as output or meas-
uring signal.
