Venlator not
running
Verify breaker in main electrical panel
Verify the HRV or ERV is in the ON posion
Verify all wall controls connected to the venlator are acvated to supply power to the unit
Unplug venlator and verify that the wall control is wired correctly to the connecon box on
the side of the unit
Verify main outlet polarizaon
Air is too dry Increase the humidity level on the wall control (Turn dial towards 60%)
Reduce connuous airow rate
Switch venlaon mode from connuous to intermient
Increase the humidity level in the home by installing a whole-home humidier
Air too humid Suggest connuous operaon of venlator
Reduce humidity seng on the wall control (Turn dial towards 30%)
Increase connuous airow rate (venlator fan speed)
Insucient venlaon, check that the capacity of the venlator is sucient
for the size of the home
Internal source of moisture, e.g. heang wood stove in basement, possible water leaks in
foundaon or poor insulaon R-value and or clothes dryer is venng in basement
Vibraon or noise Verify that the correct mounng equipment (wall-mounng bracket) was used when hang-
ing the venlator.
Verify that a secon of exible duct is installed between the venlator and the rigid duct.
Verify that the motors are operang properly and the fans are rotang freely and are not
obstructed by any debris
Cold air Misplaced supply outlets
Defrost not operang correctly
The venlator is not properly balanced
High airow on furnace connuous mode
Ensure venlator is interlocked when integrated with forced-air system
Pollutants Ensure proper clearance of venlaon hoods from source of pollutants
Refer to secon "Installing Venlaon Hoods for Fresh Air and Exhaust"
Condensaon Verify that the venlator is level to ensure proper drainage
Verify that the duct connecons are secured with screws to the venlator.
Verify the fresh (supply) side duct connecons are fully insulated and that the home has a
properly-installed vapor barrier to ensure the home is sealed ghtly.
Look for any secons of crushed ducng, failing duct straps, punctured vapor barrier, or
missing insulaon.
Look for signs of water accumulaon/leakage/dripping
Ensure proper seal of vapor barrier to outside wall.
Verify that the drain connecon is not kinked; i.e. that the “P” trap is not too close to the
venlator or is blocked with debris.
