vice versa.

IftheBCLO(BusyChannelLockout)featurehasbeen
programmedonachannel,theradiowillnottransmit
whenacarrierispresent.Instead,theradiowillgener-
ateshortbeepthreetimes.Releasethe
PTT
switchand
waitforthechanneltobeclearofactivity.

If the BTLO (BusyTone Lockout) feature has been
programmedonachannel,theradiocantransmitonly
when there is no carrier being received or when the
carrierbeingreceivedincludesthecorrecttone(CTCSS
toneorDCScode).
If the selected channel has been programmed for auto-
matic time-out, you must limit the length of each trans-
mission.Whiletransmitting,abeepwillsound10seconds
before time-out.Another beepwill soundjust before the
deadline; the top panel’s red LED (“
TX
” indicator) will
disappearandtransmissionwillceasesoonthereafter.To
resumetransmitting,youmustreleasethe
PTT
switchand
waitforthe“penaltytimer”toexpire.
