DAILY CLEANING
1.Pushtheleveruptotheunlockedposition

off the unit. Unplug it from the electrical outlet. Ensure appliance is cool.
2.Thesteamwandmaystillbehot.Donottouchitwithyourhandsuntilithascooled.
Remove the steam wand sleeve and wipe the steam wand with a damp cloth. Rinse the
steam wand sleeve in warm water. Unscrew the steam wand tip and clean the steam
wand valve with a needle or toothpick.
3.Discardtheremainingwaterbyremovingthereservoirandturningitupsidedownover
the sink. It is recommended to empty the water reservoir between uses.
4.Thewaterreservoir,lters,tamper,portalter,driptrayanddripgrillcanbewashedwith
soapy water.
CAUTION: Donotimmersetheapplianceinwater.
5.Wipehousingwithasoftwetcloth.Donotuseabrasivecleanersorscouringpads,as
theywillscratchthenish.
6.Theportaltermaybestoredintheunit.

Espresso Maker
Mineraldepositsthathavebuilt-upintheEspressoMakerwillaffecttheoperationofthe
appliance.YourEspressoMakermustbedescaledwhenyoubegintonoticeanincrease
inthetimerequiredtobrewespresso,orwhenthereisexcessivesteaming.Youmayalso
notice build up of white deposits on the surface of the brew head.
Thefrequencyofcleaningdependsuponthehardnessofthewaterused.Thefollowing
table gives the suggested cleaning intervals.

TO DESCALE WATER RESERVOIR:
1.Makesurethepowerbuttonisoffandthatthepowercordisdisconnectedfromthe
electrical outlet.
2.Fillthereservoirwithfresh,undilutedwhitehouseholdvinegar.Ifdesired,acommercially
available product for descaling espresso machines may be used following the
manufacturer’sinstructions.
