How to fix a Voith Switch evaluator display that is not working?
    • I
      Ian LaneAug 13, 2025
If the display of your Voith Switch evaluator isn't working, there are a couple of things to check: * First, make sure the evaluator is receiving supply voltage by applying it. * If the voltage supply is not the issue, the evaluator itself might be defective and need to be replaced.

What to do if my Voith BTS always displays excessive temperature after start-up bypass?
    • J
      Jonathan CraigAug 16, 2025
If your Voith Switch consistently displays an excessive temperature after the start-up bypass time, even when there isn't one, consider these potential causes and solutions: 1. The start-up bypass time may be too short. Ensure the turbo coupling speed exceeds 60 rpm after the bypass; increase the bypass time if needed. 2. The initiator poles might be reversed. Check the initiator connection. 3. The distance between the initiator head and switching element could be too large. Adjust the distance to 4 ± 1 mm. 4. The initiator may be defective. Inspect and replace if necessary. 5. The switching element could be defective. Inspect and replace if necessary.

Why is operating fluid leaking in my Voith Switch after start-up bypass?
    • M
      Matthew HillAug 20, 2025
If operating fluid leaks through the fusible plugs after the start-up bypass time, and the BTS doesn't show excessive temperature, the switching element could be defective. Inspect the switching element and replace it if needed. For the issue of nominal response temperatures of switching element and fusible plugs that do not match, please consult Voith Turbo.

What to do if the display on my Voith Switch evaluator reappears after switching it off and on?
    • P
      Preston JamesAug 25, 2025
If the display on the Voith Switch evaluator reappears after you switch it off and on, it may be caused by a defective evaluator. Try switching the supply voltage OFF and then ON again. If the issue persists, replace the evaluator.

Why does my Voith BTS Switch occasionally display excessive temperature after start-up bypass?
    • J
      Jean MckinneyAug 28, 2025
If your Voith Switch occasionally displays excessive temperature after the start-up bypass time, even when there is no excessive temperature, it could be due to: * The distance between the initiator head and the switching element being too large. Try setting the distance to 4 ± 1 mm. * The bracket for the initiator not being sufficiently stable, causing vibrations and false signals. Make sure the bracket has sufficient stability.

How to troubleshoot start-up bypass triggering issues with external signal on Voith BTS?
    • N
      Nichole Haley DDSAug 31, 2025
If triggering the start-up bypass using an external signal isn't working on your Voith Switch, check the following: * Ensure the bridge between terminals 3 and 2 of the evaluator is removed. * Verify that the external triggering signal is applied long enough, specifically for at least the duration of the start-up bypass time.

What causes operating fluid to leak during start-up bypass in a Voith BTS?
    • B
      Brianna RussoSep 4, 2025
If operating fluid leaks through the fusible plugs while the start-up bypass is active in your Voith Switch, it could be due to a start-up bypass time that is too long. Try setting a shorter start-up bypass time so that the speed of the turbo coupling with switching element clearly exceeds 60 rpm after the start-up bypass time.

What to do if triggering the start-up bypass by applying supply voltage doesn't work on my Voith BTS Switch?
    • R
      Robin CollierSep 8, 2025
If triggering the start-up bypass by applying supply voltage isn't working on your Voith Switch, it might be because the bridge between terminals 3 and 2 of the evaluator was removed. Make sure to insert the bridge.
