- For charging the measuring instrument it is only allowed to set the
appropriate switch positions. For charging the instrument at the
230V alternating current network, the switch position is: "CHARGE
230 V MAX" and for charging it via a 9 to 12V battery
voltage or via DC/AC from a plug-in power unit the switch position
is: "CHARGE 9-12V ~/-".
- If you have reasons to assume that the safe operation is not pos-
sible any longer, then disconnect the appliance immediately and
secure it against inadvertent operation. It must be assumed that
safe operation will not be possible any longer, if
- the appliance is visibly damaged,
- it does not function any longer and
- the appliance has been stored for long periods of time under
unfavourable conditions or
- the appliance has been subject to considerable stress in transit.
- Do not switch the measuring instrument on immediately after it
has been taken from a cold to a warm environment. The conden-
sation water generated could destroy the device. Allow the devi-
ce to reach room temperature before switching it on.
Handling and Startup
A Charging the instrument
The VC-260 is equipped with an environmental-friendly energy sup-
ply. It is environmental-friendly, because it uses a capacitor with a
capacity of 20F instead of batteries or accumulators for its power
supply. The capacitor is buffered via the solar cell and recharged by
9 to 12V DC or AC or by 230V AC. The installed capacitor must be
charged before starting up the instrument.
