ThissectioncoverstherequirementoftheUnitedStatesCleanAirActwhichstates:“The
manufacturershallfurnishwitheachnewmotorvehicleormotorvehicleenginesuchwritten
instructionsforthemaintenanceanduseofthevehicleorenginebytheultimatepurchaser
asmaybereasonableandnecessarytoassuretheproperfunctioningofemissioncontrol
devicesandsystems.”Thissectionalsocoverstherequirementsoftheemissionsregulations
promulgatedundertheMotorVehicleSafetyActinCanada.
TAMPERINGWITHGASEOUSEMISSIONCONTROLSYSTEMSPROHIBITED
TheFederalCleanAirActprohibitstheremovalorrenderinginoperativeofanydeviceor
elementofdesigninstalledonorinamotorvehicleormotorvehicleengineincompliance
withFederalEmissionRegulationsby:
1Anypersonpriortoitssaleanddeliverytotheultimatepurchaser,or
2Anymanufacturerordistributorafteritssaleanddeliverytotheultimatepurchaser,or
3Anypersonengagedinthebusinessofrepairing,servicing,selling,leasing,ortrading
motorvehiclesormotorvehicleenginesfollowingitssaleanddeliverytotheultimate
purchaser,or
4Anypersonwhooperatesaeetofmotorvehiclesfollowingitssaleanddeliverytothe
ultimatepurchaser.

EmissionControlSystemWarranty—California
TheCaliforniaAirResourcesBoardandPrevost.arepleasedtoexplaintheCalifornia
emissioncontrolsystemwarrantyonyournewmotorvehicleengine.InCalifornia,new
motorvehicleenginesmustbedesigned,builtandequippedtomeettheState’sstringent
anti-smogstandards.Prevosti.mustwarranttheemissioncontrolsystemonyourengine
fortheperiodoftimelistedbelowprovidedtherehasbeennoabuse,neglect,orimproper
maintenanceofyourengine.Youremissioncontrolsystemmayincludepartssuchas
thefuel-injectionsystem,turbochargerassembly,electroniccontrolmoduleandother
emission-relatedassemblies.
Whereawarrantableconditionexists,Prevostwillrepairyourengineatnocosttoyou
includingdiagnosis,parts,andlabor.MANUFACTURER’SW ARRANTYCOVERAGE:
Ifanemission-relatedpartofyourengineisdefective,thepartwillberepairedorreplaced
byPrevost.ThisisyouremissioncontrolsystemDEFECTSW ARRANTY .
