4. USE YOUR PHONE
4.1 Switch ON/OFF the Handset
When the handset is in idle mode, press and hold to switch the handset off. To
switch the handset on, press and hold
.
4.2 Make a Call
4.2.1 Preparatory Dialling
Enter the phone number. If you make a mistake, press C/INT/Mute to delete the last
digit.
Press
to dial the number.
4.2.2 Direct Dialing
Press
to take the line.
Enter the phone number to dial.
4.3 Answer a Call
If the handset is not on the charging cradle:
When the phone rings, press
or to answer a call.
If the handset is on the charging cradle or the base station and if AUTO ANSWER is set
to ON:
When the phone rings, pick up the handset to answer a call.
If you wish to switch AUTO ANSWER Off, see page 26. The default setting is ON.
4.3.1 Answer a Call in Speakerphone Mode
Speakerphone lets you talk to your caller without holding the handset to your ear. It also
enables other people in the room to join in the conversation over the loudspeaker.
During a call, press
to switch between speakerphone and normal handset use.
When the speakerphone is active, the handset displays SPEAKER ON and .
WARNING
Switching on speakerphone mode can suddenly increase the volume in the earpiece to a
very high level. Make sure the handset is not too close to your ear.
