8.5 Engine speed
See blueprints: wc_gr001300
Generators require a non-adjustable engine speed in order to maintain the
correct voltage. The engine speed is controlled by a governor that automatically
adjusts to the changing loads of the engine in order to maintain a constant RPM.
There is no gas regulator.
To set the correct engine speed:
Unscrew the RPM adjusting screw (a) in and out until a zero load RPM of 3100
RPM is reached.
NOTE: Tools and other electrical equipment can be damaged if the engine
speed is set too high or too low.
Use the technical data to set engine speed without load or idle.
1. Start the engine and allow it to warm up to the normal operating temperature.
2. Screw in the choke coil stop screw (a) to increase the speed. Unscrew the
choke coil stop screw to reduce the speed. Ensure that the throttle lever is
touching the choke coil stop screw before measuring the RPM.
