Adjusting the Cutting Height
Cutting height is adjusted by positioning the four
(4) re tainer hitch pins in a series of six vertical
holes on the deck support pins. Lift handles have
been pro vided on each end of the deck to assist
in raising the deck while positioning the hitch pins.
Cutting heights range from 1.5 in. (38 mm) [top
holes] to 4 in. (102 mm) [bottom holes] in 1/2 in.
(13 mm) incre ments.

Cutting Height Adjustment
WARNING
The engine must be stopped before ad justing
cutting height. Disengage the blade clutch
(PTO), engage the parking brake, stop the en-
gine, and remove the ignition key. Wait for all
move ment to stop before getting off the seat.
Deck Tilt-Up Position
Tilting up the deck is useful to clean under the
deck, inspect and replace the blades, and lubri-
cate spindle grease ttings.
DANGER
Before raising the mower deck, always stop
the engine and re move the key from the igni-
tion.
1. Stop the engine, and remove the key from the
ignition.
2. On each side, push down the deck lock lever
to unlock the carrier frame pivot joint. With it
depressed, push down on the carrier frame,
and then release the deck lock lever.

3. Remove the deck tilt bar from it’s locked stor-
age position along the front of the footrest,
and install it in the socket on the front of the
deck housing. Secure the bar in position with
the hitch pin.

4. Using the deck tilt bar, raise deck to the tilt-up
position and insert the two (2) tilt-up links
into the lock holes on each side of the tractor
body.
DANGER
Do not operate the mower with deck in tilt-up
position. Do not move the tractor with the deck
in the tilt-up position.
