Transaxle Lockout
IMPORTANT: DO NOT TOW this mower faster
than 2 mph (3.2 km/h) with the transaxle lockout
engaged. Towing can produce excessive internal
pressure and damage the transaxle(s).
Lockout the transaxles to permit freewheeling and
to move the tractor with the engine NOT running
(dead battery, maintenance, etc.)
1. Turn off the engine and remove the key from
the ignition.
2. Reach below the chassis behind the seat.
Slide the transaxle lockout arm tab back and
toward the middle of the machine to catch the
step that holds the arm in the LOCKOUT posi-
tion. Repeat on the other side.

The mower will “freewheel” with the arms in
the LOCKOUT position.
3. After moving the mower, release the lockout
arms and return them to normal OPERATING
position. They should be completely retracted
against the chassis, otherwise operation of the
transaxle may be erratic.
