4.6 EQUIPMENT MATCHING
To insure the safe and reliable operation of the
Woodsplitter, it is necessary to use a skid steer
with the correct specications. Use the following
list as a guide in selecting a skid steer to use on
the machine.
1. Horsepower:
Although horsepower is not required to op
-
erate the woodsplitter, it does establish the
total weight for machine stability. Do not ex-
ceed the woodsplitter power specications.
2. Tractor Weight:
By following the recommendations for the
skid steer power, the skid steer will have
sufcient weight to provide stability for the
unit when splitting or transporting.
3. Hydraulic System:
The skid steer hydraulic system must be
capable of 10 - 16 gpm (38 - 61 lpm) at 3000
psi (20,700 kPa).
