MAINTENANCE
CAUTION: YOU MUST ENSURE THE PUMP IS UNPLUGGED BEFORE BEGINNING SPA MAINTENANCE TO AVOID RISK OF
INJURY OR DEATH.
WATER MAINTENANCE: keeping your spa water clean and chemically balanced is necessary. All spas require the use of pool
chemicals and simply cleaning the filter cartridge is not enough for proper maintenance, we recommend you use pool chemicals to
maintain water chemistry and chlorine or bromine tablets. Please consult your local pool supply retailer for more information about
chemical maintenance, and always follow chemical manufacturers instructions. Spa damage because of misusing chemicals will
void the Wave Spa warranty.
NOTE: chemical agents with calcium ions must not be used. The use of chemical ions will result in scales on the walls of the tank
and inner heating pipes and will directly damage the inner components of the control cabinet and further affect the life of the control
cabinet.
Water quality the will be directly related to frequency of use, number of users and overall maintenance of the spa. If you choose not
to use chemical maintenance, then the water should be changed every 3 days. It is important to take a shower before using your
Wave Spa as cosmetic products, lotions, and other residues on the skin can quickly degrade water quality. Mismanagement of spa
water will void the Wave Spa warranty.
NOTE: Although, the water should be filtered and fixed regularly, it is not recommended to filter constantly.
WATER BALANCE RECOMMENDATION: maintain your water PH between 7.2 and 7.8, total alkalinity between 80 and 120ppm
and free chlorine between 3 to 5ppm. Purchase a test kit to test your water chemistry before each use of the spa, no less than once
per week. Low PH will cause damage to the spa and pump. Damage as a result of chemical imbalance is not covered by the
warranty.
FILTER CATRIDGE MAINTENANCE: To ensure your spa water stays clean, check and clean your filter cartridges after each use
by following the steps below. If the filter system has been working for 168 hours, the system will emit a warning tone to remind the
user to clean or replace the filter cartridge.
We recommend changing your filter cartridges every week or, if the filter cartridges remain soiled and discolored, they should be
replaced.
