5.2.2 Fuel Pump
Periodically check the fuel connections to and from the pump. Verify that no leakage is present and that the
fittings are tight and secure. The high-pressure fuel pump in the fuel module requires no additional
maintenance.
5.2.3 Engine Fuel Filter
Periodically check the fuel connections and the bowl for leakage. Replace the filter element after the first 50
hours then follow the maintenance schedule.
5.2.4 How to Change the Engine-Mounted Fuel Filter Element
1.
Shut off the fuel supply to the generator.
2.
Bleed the fuel system to reduce the fuel pressure to zero. See 4.6 How to Bleed the Fuel System.
3.
Unscrew the fuel bowl from the housing and pull the filter element down and off. Use care to catch any fuel
that may be present.
4.
Replace the two sealing O-rings. Install the new filter element, thread on the fuel bowl, and tighten by hand.
5.
Open the fuel supply to the generator and start the unit.
6.
Verify that no leaks exist.
7.
Bleed the fuel system again (repeat Step 2) to remove trapped air from the system.
5.2.5 DC Auxiliary Power Adapter (Optional - Part Number 056264)
The auxiliary connection provides DC power only when the engine is running, or the fuel system is being
primed. The maximum DC power available is 400 milliamps. The auxiliary power adapter is designed to plug
into the engine wiring harness where the electric fuel pump is connected.
Refer to form 056247 for instructions. This form is included with 056264.
