3.3 Storing
Locking system components which do not contain batteries can be stored
in a drawer or cupboard at room temperature.
Batteries are contained in battery replacement sets and fitted into the
following locking system components:
Active key
see "Active keys", page 13

Cylinder
see "Cylinder", page 20
see "Replace batteries", page 133
Batteries
Pack batteries

Note
Damage to batteries and self-discharge due to
incorrect packaging.
You must ensure you do the following when (re-)packing
batteries:
Protection against short circuits is in place
Batteries are separated from one another with non-conductive
material
Battery terminals are not subjected to the weight of the batteries
above them
Tip
Do not unpack the batteries until just before
you insert them into the key or cylinder.
Storage of batteries and components with batteries
Note
Damage to batteries due to incorrect storage
location!
Environment
Damage to the environment due to leaking
battery fluid.
2.
The storage location of the batteries and components with batteries
must fulfil the following conditions:
Temperature 5 — 30 °C
Air humidity maximum 70%
Protection against damp and moisture
Protection against heat
Protection against vibration
Constituent parts of old batteries must not be disposed of in the
environment
Protection against access by unauthorised persons
