6| CLEANING THE APPLIANCE
We recommend that you clean the entire appli-
ance immediately after each use! To do so, first
unplug the mains plug from the socket. The
motor block
10
must not be immersed in water.
To clean the pot, proceed as follows:
1| Press down the locks and lift the pot (Fig.
C12).
2| Place the pot on a flat surface.
3| Unlock the lid by rotating it a quarter turn
clockwise. Carefully remove the lid.
CAUTION
When cleaning and emptying the pot,
be careful with the sharp edges of the
Ultrablade utility knife
19
and kneading/grind-
ing knife
22
– these are extremely sharp.
4| After the parts have cooled:

with a sponge and warm soapy
water.
5| Rinse all parts under running water.
If food sticks to the pot, soak it in water
with dishwashing liquid for a few hours.
Then remove any residue with the spatula
25
or using the rough side of a sponge.
In the case of limescale build-up in the
pot, use the rough side of a sponge dipped
in white vinegar, if necessary.
To maintain the appearance and lifespan
of the glass screen, clean it with a sponge.
Do not use the rough side so as to avoid
scratches.
6| Clean the motor block
10
with a damp cloth.
Dry it thoroughly.
For easier cleaning, please note that the pot, the
assembled lid and the accessories are dishwash-
er-safe. The drive (
6
/
7
) and the locking ring
9
(Fig. E4) are not, however.
NOTE
The accessories, removable spindle and
lid parts may become discolored when
using certain ingredients (curry, carrot juice,
etc.). This does not pose a risk to your health,
nor does it affect the operation of the appli-
ance. To avoid discoloring, clean these parts
immediately after use.
Wash the appliance's lid to maintain its appear-
ance and lifespan. Do not use the rough side of
sponges as this can lead to scratches.
To avoid altering the material of the container
8
, always follow the instructions for your dish-
washer, and do not increase salt or detergent
quantities.
CAUTION
Before using the pot
8
again, always
ensure that the electrical contacts
under the container are clean and dry.

Some foods can stain plastic (e.g. carrots). To
soften the stain, rub the stained areas with
a cloth or kitchen towel soaked in cooking
oil, then clean as usual. Carry out this clean-
ing immediately after use in order to be able to
soften the stain.
