3-6 Performance and Image Quality Expectations Guide
Summary
The Xerox DocuMate 4799 is capable of reproducing color images suitable for most scanning
applications with acceptable results in comparison to the Reference Scanner. To achieve the
best results, Customers should ensure that they have the latest drivers, which can be
downloaded at www.xeroxscanners.com. You will need both the Visioneer DriverPLUS driver
and Acuity Image Processing software.
The Xerox DocuMate 4799 achieves very good results for black and white (bi-tonal text and
line art), and acceptable results for grayscale scanning applications; producing captured
images that are, in some cases, comparable to the Reference Scanner. Black and white mode
should not be used to reproduce grayscale or color images.
