Why does my Xylem Water Pump motor protection trip?
    • R
      Ryan James DDSAug 9, 2025
If the motor protection trips on your Xylem Water Pump, it could be due to several reasons. The motor protection might be set too low; adjust it according to the data plate. The impeller might be difficult to rotate; clean the impeller and the sump, and check that the impeller is properly trimmed. The drive unit might not be receiving full voltage on all three phases; check the fuses and replace any that have tripped. If the fuses are intact, notify a certified electrician. There also might be a malfunction in the overload protection, in which case you should replace the overload protection. The density of the pumped fluid may be too high; ensure that the maximum density is 1100 kg/m3 (9.2 lb/US gal).

What to do if Xylem Flygt 3201 Water Pump doesn't stop with level sensor?

      Deanna MckinneyAug 21, 2025
If your Xylem Water Pump doesn't stop when a level sensor is used, it could be due to a few reasons. The pump might be unable to empty the sump to the stop level; check for leaks from the piping and/or discharge connection, ensure the impeller is not clogged, verify the non-return valve(s) are functioning properly, and confirm the pump has adequate capacity. Alternatively, there may be a malfunction in the level-sensing equipment; clean the level regulators, check the functioning of the level sensors, check the contactor and the control circuit, and replace any defective items. Lastly, the stop level might be set too low; raise the stop level.

Why does my Xylem Flygt 3201 Water Pump start and stop rapidly?
    • K
      Kari McgeeAug 27, 2025
If your Xylem Water Pump starts and stops in rapid sequence, the pump may be starting due to back-flow which fills the sump to the start level again. Check that the distance between the start and stop levels is not too small, the non-return valve(s) work(s) properly and the rinser is not too long without a non-return valve. Also, the self-holding function of the contactor might be malfunctioning. Inspect the contactor connections, the voltage in the control circuit in relation to the rated voltages on the coil, the functioning of the stop-level regulator and whether the voltage drop in the line at the starting surge causes the contactor's self-holding malfunction.

What to do if my Xylem Flygt 3201 does not start?
    • J
      Jennifer WilliamsNov 2, 2025
If your Xylem Water Pump isn't starting, several issues could be the cause. First, an alarm signal might have been triggered on the control panel. Ensure the impeller rotates freely, check the sensor indicator for alarms, and verify the overload protection hasn't tripped. If it still doesn't start, the installation might not be receiving voltage. Check that the main power switch is on, there's control voltage to the start equipment, the fuses are intact, there is voltage in all phases of the supply line, all fuses have power and are securely fastened, the overload protection isn't tripped, and the motor cable isn't damaged. Also, the impeller might be stuck. Clean the impeller and the sump to prevent future clogs. If the pump starts manually but not automatically, verify the start level re...

How to troubleshoot low water delivery from my Xylem Flygt 3201 Water Pump?
    • J
      johnsonadrienneNov 14, 2025
If your Xylem Water Pump delivers too little or no water, several factors could be responsible. First, the impeller might be rotating in the wrong direction; if it's a 3-phase pump, transpose two leads. Also, one or more of the valves might be set in the wrong positions; reset the valves, replace them if necessary, and ensure they're correctly installed according to media flow and open correctly. The impeller might be difficult to rotate; clean the impeller and the sump, and check that the impeller is properly trimmed. The pipes might be obstructed; clean them to ensure a free flow. The pipes and joints could be leaking; find and seal the leaks. There could be signs of wear on the impeller, pump, and casing; replace the worn parts. Finally, the liquid level might be too low; check that the...
