  If your Yamaha Amplifier has no sound or picture, check the following: * Ensure all input and output cables are correctly connected. If the problem continues, the cables may be defective. * Select the appropriate input source using the INPUT SELECTOR or TAPE/MD MON / EXT. DECODER (or the input selector buttons). * Make sure the speaker connections are secure. * Set SPEAKERS corresponding to the speakers in use to the ON position. * Verify that the sound is not muted. Adjust VOLUME, press MUTE to cancel mute, and adjust the volume. * Confirm that the input source is compatible with the unit. Play a source that the unit can reproduce, such as PCM audio or signals encoded with Dolby Digital or DTS.

Set the unit to standby mode and disconnect the AC power cord from the AC power outlet. After about 30 seconds, reconnect the power and operate the unit again.
