How to troubleshoot no sound on my Yamaha TF-Rack?
    • W
      Wesley DavisAug 17, 2025
If there is no sound from your Yamaha Music Mixer, several factors could be at play. First, verify that the input source settings on the INPUT screen are correctly configured. Ensure the channel isn't muted by checking the MUTE keys and the fader level for the channel isn't turned down in the FADER section of the OVERVIEW or CH VIEW screen. If using a condenser mic, confirm that '+48V Master' is enabled on the SETUP screen, and phantom power is activated on the INPUT screen. Also, ensure that the gate isn't applying too much by reviewing the settings on the GATE screen. Finally, check that the corresponding channel is turned on using the FADER section in the OVERVIEW screen or the CH VIEW screen.

    • C
      Cindy BurgessAug 20, 2025
If the sound from your Yamaha Music Mixer is distorted, the gain might be too high; adjust it on the INPUT screen. Also, the audio being input may be too high, so try lowering the volume of the audio source.

What to do if the sound level is too low on my Yamaha TF-Rack Music Mixer?
    • B
      Bailey GriffinAug 25, 2025
If the sound level on your Yamaha Music Mixer is too low, you may need to adjust the gain on the INPUT screen. Also, too much gate or compression could be applied. Check the settings on the GATE or COMP screens to resolve this.

    • L
      leenicholasSep 1, 2025
If you cannot control the Tio1608-D headamp from the console of your Yamaha Music Mixer (but audio input/output is functioning), ensure the unit's HA Control is turned on via the HA button on the unit's SLOT SETUP screen. Verify that only two consoles or R Remote applications are connected on the Dante network to control the Tio1608-D headamp, then restart the Tio1608-D. Also, make sure the INPUT SELECT on the console's INPUT screen is set to SLOT.

If you're not hearing audio from a portable audio player connected to the iPad connector on your Yamaha Music Mixer, ensure the INPUT source for ST IN 1 is set to "PLAYBACK". Anna HallSep 9, 2025
If you cannot hear audio from the computer directly connected to your Yamaha Music Mixer, and you are using Static IP address provisioning, set the console to the same subnet mask as the computer. If you are using DHCP provisioning, connect the console and the computer to a network router, and make sure the computer is configured to receive its network settings automatically (i.e., from a DHCP server).

      Joan EricksonNov 27, 2025
If you cannot input audio from the Tio1608-D on your Yamaha Music Mixer, first ensure the NY64-D is correctly installed in the expansion slot and that the console is correctly connected to the Dante network. Verify that the UNIT ID switch, QUICK CONFIG switch, and DIP switches on the rear panel of the Tio1608-D are in the correct positions. Also, check the Dante patch settings. If using Quick Config, ensure the QUICK CONFIG switch on the Tio1608-D is on and the Quick Config button on the console's SLOT SETUP screen is turned on. If not using Quick Config, use Dante Controller to configure the Dante patch settings. Finally, check the Dante Device Configuration for the Tio1608-D or NY64-D.
