E. Predictive Control Points: Unit controls shall avoid
safetyshutdownwhenoperatingoutsidedesigncon-
ditionsbyoptimizingthechillercontrolsandcooling
loadoutputtostayonlineandavoidsafetylimitsbe-
ingreached.Thesystemshallmonitorthefollowing
parametersandmaintainthemaximumcoolingoutput
possible without shutdown of the equipment: motor
current,suctionpressureanddischargepressure.
F. SystemSafeties:Shallcauseindividualcompressor
systemstoperformauto-resetshutdown;manualreset
required after the third trip in 90 minutes. Includes:
highdischargepressureortemperature,lowsuction
pressure,high/lowmotorcurrent, highmotor tem-
perature,highpressureswitch,high/lowdifferentialoil
pressure,highoiltemperature,lowsuctionsuperheat,
criticalsensormalfunction,loworhighcurrent,phase
loss/singlephasepower,overloadofmotorwindings,
andlowvoltage.
G. Unit Safeties: Shall be automatic reset and cause
compressorstoshutdownif:highorlowambient,low
leavingchilledliquidtemperature,undervoltage,and
ow switch operation. Contractor shall provide ow
switch and wiring per chiller manufacturer require-
ments.
H. Manufacturer shall provide any controls not listed
above,necessaryforautomaticchilleroperation.Me-
chanicalContractorshallprovideeldcontrolwiring
necessaryto interface sensorstothe chiller control
system.

BASsystem.Chillerswithoutthisfeatureshall
beprovidedwiththenecessarysoundattenua-
tiontomeetthescheduledsoundperformance
dataatallloadpoints.
B.PowerSupply/Connections:
1. Circuitbreakerisoptionalatpointofincoming
single point connection to provide disconnect-
ingmeansANDbesizedtoprovidethemotor
branch circuit protection, short circuit protec-
tion and ground fault protection for the motor
branch-circuit conductors, the motor control
apparatusandthemotors.Circuitbreakershall
beequippedwithlockableoperatinghandlethat
shallextendthroughpowerpaneldoorsothat
powermaybedisconnectedwithoutopeningany
paneldoors.
C.CondenserCoilEnvironmentalProtection:
1. PRE-COATED FIN CONDENSER COILS –
Theair-cooledcondensercoilsareconstructed
ofepoxy-coatedaluminumns.
2. COPPER FIN – Provide condenser coils with
coppernsinlieuofaluminumns.
3. POST-COATEDEPOXYDIPPEDCONDENSER
COILS –Theunitisbuiltwithdipped-curedcon-
densercoils.
D.ProtectiveChillerPanels(Factory Mounted):
1.Louvered Panels (condenser coils only): Painted
steeltomatchunitpanels,overexternalcondenser
coilfaces.
2.WirePanels(fullunit):Heavygauge,weldedwire
mesh, coated to resist corrosion, to protect con-
denser coils from incidental damage and restrict
unauthorizedaccesstointernalcomponents.
3. Louvered Panels (full unit): Painted steel to
match unit panels, to protect condenser coils
fromincidentaldamage,visuallyscreeninternal
components,andpreventunauthorizedaccess
tointernalcomponents.
4. Louvered/WirePanels:Louveredsteelpanelson
externalcondensercoilfaces,paintedtomatch
