4. While manually rotating the platen roller, clean it thoroughly with the swab. Allow the
solvent to evaporate.
5. Reload the media, and close the printhead assembly.
Important • Do not use anything but the isopropyl alcohol solution to clean the platen
roller. Use of other cleaning agents or solvents may damage the platen roller and affect
platen life.
Note • If performing this procedure does not improve print quality, try cleaning the
printhead with Save-A-Printhead cleaning film. This specially coated material removes
contamination buildup without damaging the printhead. Contact UPS Technical Support
for more information.
