8.2InstallingCablesforanE4140Shelf
TheE4140shelfusestwoactive/standbyredundantpowersupplies.Eachpowersupply
hastwopowercables.Therearefourpowercablesintotal.
Thefollowingcablesshouldbeinstalled:
lTwogroundingcables
lFourpairsofpowercables
Note:
Ifthecongurationisdetermined,thepowercablesconnectedattheuniedPDUsidehas
beeninstalledcompletelybeforedelivery.
Prerequisite
lThecontrolswitchesoftheuniedPDUinthetoppartofthecabinetaresettoOFF
positions.
lAnti-staticgloves,acrossheadscrewdriver,andM6×12combinationscrewsare
ready.
Steps
1.Wearanti-staticgloves.
2.InstallthegroundingcablesfortheE4140shelf.Forinstallinggroundingcablesfor
theE4140shelf,seeFigure8-2.
Note:
ThegroundingcablescannotblockthepathforextractingtheNCDMboardateither
sideoftheshelf.
a.Removethecombinationscrewbyusingthecrossheadscrewdriveratthe
groundingpointoftheshelf.Secureoneendofthegroundingcabletothe
groundingpoint.
b.Connecttheotherendofthegroundingcabletothenearestverticalcabletray,
andsecurethecablewithaM6×12combinationscrew.
