WhenthealarmboxusesanACpowersupply,anACadaptorshouldbeusedandanAC
socketshouldbenearthealarmbox.
Note:
TheACadaptorisdeliveredwitha2-meter-longDCpowercableanda2-meter-longAC
powercable.ThealarmboxmustbeinstalledwithinthereachoftheACpowercable.
TheACpowercableandnetworkcableshouldbecoveredbytrunkingandsecuredonthe
wall.Cablebendsshouldbesmooth.
Caution!
Donotstrainthecablesbecausethiscanresultindamage.
ThisproceduredescribeshowtoconnecttheACpowercableandthenetworkcableto
thealarmbox.
Prerequisite
lThepowercableandastraight-throughnetworkcable(RJ-45connector)are
connectedandroutedproperly.
lAscrewdriverandcabletiesareready.
lEnsurethattheACsocketisswitchedoff.
Steps
1.Connectoneendofthenetworkcabletothenetworkinterfaceofthealarmbox,and
thenconnecttheotherendtotheportofthehubortothelayer-2switchthatresides
inthesameLANwiththealarmserver.
2.Connectthethree-poleplugoftheACpowercabletotheACsocket,andthenconnect
theotherendtotheACadaptor.FortheACadapterandtheACpowercable,see
Figure11-3.
