Tripod

Check all structural parts for damage: dents, cracked welds, and bent or crushed tubes.
Minor cosmetic damage will not affect the structural integrity of the Tripod, but any seriously
damaged parts MUST BE repaired or replaced before using the Tripod.
Inspect the entire unit for corrosion.
Check all hardware (pins, nuts, bolts, pulleys, chains, and rollers) for damaged threads, bend,
and damaged, missing, or loose fasteners. Check all pulleys and rollers for chips, grooves, and
excessive wear. Ensure that all pulleys and rollers turn freely.
Locking Pins

Inspect for smooth operation of the leg locking pins.
Inspect each of the leg locking pins for corrosion.
Labels

Verify that all labels are securely attached and are legible (see ‘Labels’).
PFAS and Other
Equipment
Additional Personal Fall Arrest System (PFAS) equipment (harness, SRD, etc) that are used with
the Protecta Tripod should be installed and inspected per the manufacturer’s instructions.
