3.1 System architecture
The DPA UPScale ST S2 System has a decentralized parallel architecture (DPA). Each DPA UPScale
module has its own:
- Rectifier and inverter
- DC booster
- Static bypass
- Battery connection
- Control logic
- LCD control panel

Therefore, the UPS does not have common components. This offers high availability and no single
point of failure.
There are two types of DPA Upscale modules, as follows:

The DPA UPScale Modules are “safe-swappable” - no disturbance to the operation of the load is
caused by inserting or extracting a module from a system while it is powered.
