Oil pressure
The oil pressure in front of the turbocharger must be maintained pre-
cisely to ensure trouble-free operation.
The permissible oil pressure ranges at measuring point M (blind connec-
tion) on the turbocharger are listed below.
Status for operation Oil pressure [bar]
Admissible, for normal operation 1.0…2.5
Admissible, during engine warm-up 1.0…5.0
Temporarily admissible ( < 1h ) -> alarm 0.8…1.0
Not admissible -> emergency stop 0.0…0.8
Admissible, during pre-lubrication and post-lub-
rication (engine stopped)
0.2…2.5
Oil orifice
A metering orifice is installed in the oil inlet of the turbocharger to en-
sure these oil pressures. The orifice is installed by the enginebuilder and
it is fixed in place with a locking ring.
