Removal, brake release unit
The procedure below details how to remove the brake release unit.
Action Note
1.
DANGER!
Turn off all electric power, hydraulic and
pneumatic pressure supplies to the robot!
For Foundry Prime robots: Do not turn off the
air pressure to motors and SMB.

WARNING!
The unit is sensitive to ESD, before handling
the unit please observe the safety information
in section WARNING - The unit is sensitive to
ESD! on page 35
3. Remove the push button guard from the SMB
cover.
Shown in the figure Location of brake
release unit on page 277.
The guard must be removed to ensure a
correct refitting of the brake release unit.
4. Let the battery stay connected, to avoid the
need of synchronization of the robot!

5. Disconnect the connectors X8, X9 and X10
from the brake release unit.

6. Remove the brake release unit from the
bracket by removing the four attachment
screws.
