Section 3 REC615 and RER615 overview
3.1 Overview
REC615 and RER615 relays are designed for remote control and monitoring,
protection, fault indication, power quality analysis and automation in medium-
voltage secondary distribution systems. The design of the relays has been guided by
the IEC 61850 standard for communication and interoperability of substation
automation devices.
The relays feature a draw-out-type design with a variety of mounting methods,
compact size and ease of use. Depending on the product, optional functionality is
available at the time of order for both software and hardware, for example,
autoreclosing and additional I/Os.
REC615 and RER615 relays support a range of communication protocols including
IEC 61850 with Edition 2 support, process bus according to IEC 61850-9-2 LE, IEC
60870-5-101/104, Modbus® and DNP3.
3.2 Local HMI
The LHMI is used for setting, monitoring and controlling the protection relay. The
LHMI comprises the display, buttons, LED indicators and communication port.
