Why does my ABB SACE Emax 2 show a 'Local bus' error?
    • S
      Scott GreenSep 10, 2025
If you have 'Local Bus' alarm on your ABB Circuit Breakers, it could be due to several reasons. The unit might be on with auxiliary supply, the Local Bus parameter could be enabled without a connection to the modules, or the connection is incorrect, or communication has been lost for more than five seconds. To resolve this, check the connection and powering of modules in the terminal box or externally, and ensure that the connected modules are compatible with Ekip Touch.

Why ABB SACE Emax 2 Circuit breakers fails to react to opening/closing command from Ekip Touch?
    • M
      Misty HughesAug 26, 2025
The ABB Circuit breaker might fail to react to opening/closing command from Ekip Touch because: * The connections or supplies of the opening/closing actuators are not correct. Check connections and supplies. * There is an absence of auxiliary power supply to Ekip Touch. Check supplies and status of Power LEDs. * The Circuit-breaker is in a condition which fails to enable the selected command. Check circuit-breaker documentation and cases that fail to enable command.

      diazryanAug 27, 2025
If you're experiencing communication problems with Ekip Com, Ekip Link, Ekip Signalling, or Ekip CI in your ABB Circuit breakers, it might be due to the circuit-breaker being in the withdrawn position, Vaux being absent, or modules not inserted properly. To resolve this, insert the modules, set the circuit-breaker to the Connected position, and connect Vaux.

What causes ABB Circuit breakers not to open when the opening coil is powered?
    • J
      Jonathan KimAug 28, 2025
The ABB circuit-breaker may not open when the opening coil is powered due to: * The operating mechanism being blocked. Contact ABB. * The power supply voltage of the auxiliary circuits being too low. Measure the voltage: it should not be lower than 85 % of the rated voltage of the coil. * The power supply voltage being different from that indicated on the rating plate. Use the correct voltage. * The cables of the coil not being inserted correctly in the terminals. Make sure there is continuity between cable and terminal and if necessary reconnect the cables of the coil to the terminals. * The connections of the power supply circuit being wrong. Check the connections using the relevant wiring diagram. * The opening coil being damaged. Replace the coil.
