WARNING
Before accessing the cable terminals, make sure
that the three-position disconnector is in the
EARTH position and that the circuit-breaker is
closed.
The person in charge of the apparatus is
responsible for ensuring that access to the panel
is safe.

4.3.4. Gas duct channel (IEC version only)
The UniGear 500R arc-proof version features a
metallic duct 1 (Figure 31) for collecting and
conveying internal arc gases.
The UniGear 500R switchgear is available with
following solutions of gas ducts
Gas duct with outlet
The duct is installed on the roof of the switchgear and,
normally, the ends of the duct have been extended so
as to convey the gases externally to a safe area.
Gas duct with top chimneys
The difference between gas duct with outlet and top
chimneyes is that in case of top chimneys there are no
side exits but the gas generated from an internal arc
goes out from the duct through the top chimneys
located on the top part of the gas duct on each panel
Both solutions guarantees safety of personnel or other
apparatus / plants according to IEC 62271 200
Standard (chapter 6.5).
