Error Cause Solution
III. Jar Leak Test Failure
Jar has not passed the
corresponding test
A leak has been detected
in the vacuum condition
Hairline cracks in the jar. Could
result from use of alcohol to disinfect
in the jar
Replace jar. Never use alcohol or high temperatures
(>80°C) to clean the jar. Advanced Instruments
recommends using a bleach-alternative product.
Sodium hypochlorite (i.e., bleach) solutions are not
recommended for disinfection of the jars because they
damage the inside of the jar over time.
Leaking snap-shut coupling on the lid
Jar coupling can be greased with Teflon spray
Replace the lid
The jar coupling can be replaced, please contact your
local Anoxomat distributor or Advanced Instruments for
replacement parts
Damaged jar-tube insert
Visual check: In case the insert is damaged or shows
severe scratches, the black tube (including the insert)
must be replaced. Contact your local Anoxomat
distributor or Advanced Instruments
Leaking jar–tube (black tube)
Visual check: In case the jar tube is bent, cracked,
or torn, contact your local Anoxomat distributor or
Advanced Instruments
IV. Jar Seal Test Failure
Error during fill
Jar lid not clamped
Disconnect jar, air out the jar, reconnect, and process.
Do not tighten or loosen the jar clamp during processing.
Seal-fill time error
Lid is not tight enough
Disconnect jar, air out the jar, close, retighten clamp, and
process
A leak has been detected
at near Atmospheric
pressure. There is not 100%
seal between the lid and
the jar.
The lid is not clamped tight enough
on the jar. Note: Applies to Standard
jars only
Tighten the clamp a bit firmer
The clamp is bent, or the cap on the
screw is damaged. Note: Applies to
Standard jars only
Check and, if necessary, exchange
The O-ring is not sealing fully. The
O-ring is cracked and dry. Note:

Check if O-ring is free from particles like hairs, dust, etc.
